David Koma, the maestro of red carpet magic, launched his own London-based fashion empire back in 2009. Since then, he's been slaying the fashion game with his fierce, sculptural silhouettes that make every wearer feel like a goddess.
Marco Marchi, the mastermind behind Exelite (the company that owns Blumarine), couldn’t be more thrilled. He gushed, “David Koma’s aesthetic captivated me from day one! I’m confident he’ll work his magic on Blumarine, blending our iconic codes with his own unique vision, which oozes with undeniable femininity.”
Blumarine's recent history has been a bit of a rollercoaster. From 2019 to 2023, Nicola Brognano gave the brand a spicy Y2K makeover, with viral hits like the butterfly camisole and those iconic low-slung jeans. But when Brognano stepped down in October 2023, Chiapponi came in and took the brand in a more mature, romantic direction. Unfortunately, his vision didn’t quite hit the mark, and his debut collection left fans craving more cohesion.
Now, with David Koma at the helm, we’re expecting a glamorous return to form—think Brognano’s glitzy Y2K vibes but with a sophisticated twist.
Koma shared his excitement, saying, “Blumarine is the epitome of sensuality, timeless glamour, and elegance—qualities I've always admired. It’s an absolute honor to be writing the next chapter in this legendary brand's story. I’m eager to celebrate Blumarine’s rich creative heritage while sprinkling in my own modern flair. This journey feels incredibly authentic to me, and I can't wait to create collections that not only inspire but also captivate our fashion-forward audience. Buckle up, because a new era of innovation and creativity is about to unfold at this iconic house!”
Fashion lovers, prepare to be dazzled! ✨.
